I've heard they conducted a study and concluded that the most dangerous music to listen to while driving was Wagner's Flight of the Valkyries. Just thinking about it makes me want to change lanes with reckless abandon and strafe the enemy!
Some years ago.... The thing I remember the most is the main character's feeling of disjointedness, the creepy offices of the Belgian corporation that hired him, and the main character's feelings of numbness and regret... His inability to fit back into "civilized" society...Was Kurtz as much a monster as the men who hired the main character to assassinate him? Not a book for the faint hearted!
The best Chuck Jones cartoon next to the Boris Karloff voiced"The Grinch who stole Christmas"! This piece was inspired not only by the "Ride of the Valkyries" but the overture of "The Flying Dutchman". Both are faves of mine, I also love the intense"Lover's theme " from "Tristan and Isolde"(also called "Love and Death" I believe)
